ANAF Unit #302/Pender Legion #239 Golf Challenge
On a beautiful fall Sunday, ANAF and Pender Legion
golfers participated in a fun golf challenge at Ardmore Golf course on the
1st Oct 2006.
In less than three hours of ball whacking, divot
digging or
to those golfers who took many extra air “practice” swings
and finally to those who drained those three, five, thirty foot
par/birdie/bogey putts, all the golfers made their way back to Unit 302
for prizes and dinner. When all the scorecards were turned in, the prize
draw commenced.
There were many nice prizes once again this year and I
would like to thank all those who donated or was involved with providing
them. Once everyone had a prize, the meal line up started with our guests
from Pender leading the way. Thanks again to the Ladies Auxiliary
(Michelle, 
Lynda, Sandra) for doing an outstanding meal (and Linda Coleman
too).
Finally with all the scorecards tallied by our local
golf pros committee: Vic Skinner, Mike Swannell and honest 
broker
Izzy from Pender. We had a
four-way tie for low net score but with a hidden hole tiebreaker decision,
we announced the low net team and provided them with a team trophy from
our Labatt’s sponsor and golf shirts. Congrats! 
With only 21 strokes separating the overall Golf
Challenge winners… ANAF Unit 302 prevailed as this years champs. Our
President, Don Hinse accepted the trophy on behalf of the
ANAF.
I would like to thank Al Cooper, Luke Humber and
Yvonne Sanders (Pender OPI) for assisting the past few months in setting
this up and to all those that attended. I look forward to the next golf
challenge tournament on 
Pender in 2007.
